Hi All,
Well, it's just turned 9pm on December 31st here in Melbourne - midnight in
Tonga and Kiribati! I've got my eats and drinks ready - will be having a
'special' drink when it's midnight here - and again (at least) at 9pm
tomorrow .... as it turns midnight for Mandy in Hawaii :-)
Bye the way, if anyone's going to watch the program in America that's
following midnights around the world - don't let them try to tell you that
at 9am New York time that it's midnight in Sydney. It will be 1am already
but they got their calculations wrong when planning the telecast and
advertising (so they reported in the newspaper here, anyway). They now say
they'll record the celebrations in Sydney and play it at 9am.
I hope everyone has a really nice New Year's Eve/Day, with no little
bug-like problems, and a happy Mandy-filled 2000
Best wishes,
SueH
(Midnight in NZ in 45mins)

I'm just about to go out to see in the Millennium and I thought I'd =

watch Big Ben chime and the River Thames get set on fire. Isn't it =
marvellous that I can sit at home and send New Year greetings across the =

Hope the next year brings you your heart's desire! Although I fear =

Happy New Year!

We're still hours away from New Year's here in New York, but I'm enjoying
watching the ABC broadcast as the various cities and countries celebrate in
their own way with their own artists and culture. Getting to sample the
architecture, the town squares, the fireworks and the local talent right here
in my own kitchen...well, it's made me remember what a big, wide world it
is...and just how small it is...all at the same time.
To all of you, in every country...I wish you a peaceful and joyous New Year.

Here in Dallas it is a balmy 68 degrees and sunny. I'm celebrating New
Year's solo for the first time in my adult life and its not bad...rather
peaceful even. I took a walk down by the creek and just enjoyed the day.
I'll probably go to church at 6:00, but then I have a bottle of Domaine
Chandon in the fridge for later. I've been watching off and on that same
ABC broadcast from around the world on the tube.
Happy New Year everyone!
Jennifer

I have another: does anyone know who is sponsoring the concert? I had a
buddy named Laura Andrews, whom many of you may remember from the original CH
and MP lists and chats, who lived in Hawaii and whose mother owned one of
Hawaii's biggest real estate agencies. Does anyone know?
