Yeah, Cindi, that does make sense, at least to me. I'm thankful to be able
to let Barbra off the hook on that note.

Good point. If only Yentl sings, it's because the movie is from her point of
view. If Avigdor sings, then suddenly, Haddass has to sing, her parents have
to sing, and the chorus of yeshiva boys have to sing a song about swimming
naked or something("All the world seems in tune, as yeshiva boys croon, about
baring their butts in the park..."...sorry! ;) It's been awhile since I've
seen Yentl or listened to the music, but I remember the song in which Yentl
comments on both Avigdor and Haddass and the roles they play, and clearly,
this in Yentl's point of view and would have a very different feel if they
sang for themselves.

Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2000 16:11:26 EST

How lucky am I!? I just got on to the Wild Party site, and even though I
already have tickets (row O center) for my 35th birthday, April 22, I decided
to see which seats were available now, just for yucks. It turns out that
suddenly, two seats were available for row C center orchestra! I was kinda
bummed, figuring that those had become available after my purchase, and
thinking there was probably nothing I could do about it. But I decided to
call anyway, figuring, what the heck, I've got nothing to lose. The lovely
lady on the phone, after telling me that the policy was no exchanges, no
refunds, said that I COULD purchase the better seats and could return my
tickets for a refund. So now I'm getting row C tickets, seats 101, 102,
instead of row O! :) :) :) Happy birthday to me!!!!!!!!!

Robin (So now, do I wait till the new tix come to return the old ones, or
send them back right away so that my credit card gets credited sooner?)

Hi all,

There is a huge two full page ad for the Wild Party in the New York Times
today (no wonder ticket prices are so high---that must have cost $$$$).

The ad says: "Put out the news, we got a Hot Party. Putout the word adn go
and order the ice. When was the last time we had a real party? Wet and
wicked, ast-time fun and Wild!"

ok.......

All of the ticket info is there and an alphabetical list of the cast.

Those were my thoughts as well. Anyone know if Stephen Hill can sing?

Also, does anyone else think SH didn't look very healthy towards the end of
last season's Law & Order? He'd become thin and, to me, seemed to wince
with pain in a few scenes. The new series begins *tonight* at 8-30 and is
followed by L&O:SVU. They are going to be on at the same time as Buffy and
The Practice (new eps of those begin next Monday, repeats tonight). Still
no sign of Chicago Hope! (Be good to see yummy Jesse L Martin weekly - and
with Jerry Orbach, another of my faves).

That was really good, Robin .... got any more? (Did everyone see/hear Tom
Lehrer sing the whole of Poisoning Pigeons on the Hey Mr Producer
TV-airing/video/CD?)

Well, in less than an hour I'll be visiting the *Mercy* Maternity Hospital
here to see my GRANDSON, Thomas, for the first time!!!! :-) He arrived
yesterday morning (30th) at nine minutes past midnight [7lb 4oz, 20"]. Born
on a Sunday, the same as me - and Mandy!

I heard the ad for the play on CBS AM 88 yesterday. Eartha Kitt does the
voiceover for the ad and Mandy and Toni Collette are singing in the
background. The song sounds pretty good from the clip I heard. Of course he
is prominent...it's harder to hear her singing, but its great to hear the
promotions starting. Hopefully this will engender all sorts of interest and
the play will be a smash!!! Wouldn't THAT be nice. Now, the question about
Tony's. I don't recall when the cutoff is for eligibility for this year.
Does anyone else?
