This was in PBOL today----this is the production Mandy is rumored to be in:
Neighbors of Broadway's Virginia Theatre might be calling the police this
spring: The Wild Party will make noise there beginning April 6, 2000,
according to a spokesperson for The Public Theater musical production.
Composer-lyricist Michael John LaChiusa and librettist George C. Wolfe
authored the piece, which will be directed by Wolfe. No casting has been
confirmed. The Public (George C. Wolfe, producer) and partnering producers
Scott Rudin, Roger Berlind and Jujamcyn Theaters will mount the show.

Well, I'm glad SOMEBODY got it right!
I have a mini-gripe: I was going through next week's TV Guide trying to see
what new shows were starting when, etc etc. There's all these ads for the
new season with great pictures of their stars. Then there's CBS's ad for
CH: a whole page of mostly white space, with teeny tiny little dark
pictures of the cast. You can barely make out who's who! What lamebrain
laid that one out? How come all the other shows got big pictures of their
cast?

This year as some of you know I am planning on getting Mandys birthday gift
from the group together. Here is the following idea that I would like to put
forth, however ..... it is NOT up for discussion, you may either participate
or not.
So this year, here is the idea: I will prepare a Mandy Fan Scrapbook filled
with pages from all of us! Your page can include anything you want to say to
Mandy... info about yourself, your favorite Mandy moments, pictures,
momentous, copies of your organ donation cards or license with donor dot AND
combined with this, I think it would be nice if we made contributions to his
favorite charities and mention on your pages which charity (and why if
appropriate ). I think Mandy would love to hear from his fans and appreciate
contributions to his favorite charities !! You may make your page as simple
or as * over the top * as you like, you could use stickers, die cuts, make
theme pages, just use your imagination.
If you cannot find the time to make a page but would like to participate,
just put your things in an envelope and send them, and I will prepare them
for you, I have all the supplies.
Use a standard piece of paper or card stock
Put what ever you like on it in the way of a birthday greeting.
It is suggested but OPTIONAL to include one or more of the following:
Some indication that you are an organ donor.
State that you have made a contribution in his name to a charity of your
choice
Picture of yourself
Picture of you and Mandy
How many concerts and where they took place.
Your favorite song
Your favorite Mandy moment
As soon as I make my page I will put it on a web site so you can view it and
I could even add everyone else to it so the group can see the finished
product (if you wish your page to not be posted on the web page simply let me
know. This idea is just a suggestion but not am important part of the
project.
The dead line for receiving the pages is November 6th. I know his birthday is
not until the 30th but I need time, and it may be quietly given to him at one
of his concerts in mid November. So remember DEADLINE, NOV. 6th.

Mandy had two moments on the E Channel's pre-Emmy show. (I know, get a life,
but I love to see what everybody's wearing!). They interviewed Emmy
nominees and presenters about how Emmy got her name. Mandy had some silly
response and threw his head back in laughter (didn't look too cute here I'm
afraid.)
Later they had the 15 second count down, with different actors saying each
number. Mandy delivered the absolutely most perfect "4" I've ever heard in
my life. He actually made it sound like the most important number in the
world. He was darling, outstanding, and perfectly Mandy.

not appreciate it. I would like to apologize and also thank you for giving me
the opportunity to EXPLAIN. It seems you have taken this in the wrong light.
The REASON i said this was because I was referring to an * inside list * joke
or experience per say.
I was making a jab at last years Birthday fiasco. For those of you who do
not remember or were not here. A very nice gal on the list did his birthday
and it turned into the most embarrassing exchange of posts and reactions that
one could imagine. List members fighting, arguing, ripping out each others
hair, not to mention eyeballs ,( naturally saving the cornea and sending them
on to Mandy * claiming * they were their own! Humph! Endless days of
discussion over wording and presentation, who will give it, how will it be
given, what will the gift really * say * to him. The history of gift giving.
Dissecting everything right down to the color of the car the damn thing would
ride in < joke> . I joke and yet its true that many people were hurt and it
was a terrible experience for those working their guts out to try and do
something nice for Mandy and for the list.
I was simply making a reference to Mandys last birthday, and hoping to avoid
any controversy. In the end Mandy loved his gift that Carol M put together
and it made all the fighting seem useless.
If anyone has taken offense please take my sincere apology and know that what
I really meant was * lets not go through that again *. Lets all have fun..and
not let anyone or anything get in the way of simply wishing our guy a very
Happy Birthday.

One of my local newspaper publishes a tv guide for the Sunday paper, and guess what I found......
Chicago Hope
The doctors welcome several new colleagues and one old one -- Dr. Geiger (Mandy Patinkin) -- as the new season opens. New to the staff are Drs. Gina Simon, Jeremy Hanlon and Francesca Alberghetti (Carla Gugino, Lauren Holly, Barbra Hershey). In "Team Play", Simon deasl with the consequences of a liposuction gone wrong, Alberghetti performs a tough geart operation on a child after Geiger refuses, and a priest comes into the emergency room with an embarrassing injury.
How could DEK make Geiger look like the bad guy? Sure, he is a nut -- everyone is a little nutty sometimes --, but Geiger fans have seen his heart, including me.
