I don't know if this is true but if it isn't would somebody please let
us know. I was sure someone on this list would know the answer. If it's
true, I was sure some of you would want to know. I don't know why they
singled out only Christians as being concerned, I think probably many
different faiths would be.

PROCTOR & GAMBLE COMES OUT
Date: Monday, July 19, 1999
The President of Proctor & Gamble appeared on the Sally Jesse Raphael =
Show
on Monday, July 19, 1999. He announced that "due to the openness of our
society", he was coming out of the closet about his association with the
church of Satan. He stated that a large portion of his profits from
Proctor & Gamble products goes to support this satanic church. When =
asked
by Sally Jesse if stating this on TV would hurt his business, he =
replied:
"There are not enough Christians in the United States to make a =
difference."
P&G Product list includes:
Cleaning Supplies - Bold, Cascade, Cheer, Joy, Comet, Dash, Spic & Span,
Tide, Top Job, Oxidol, Ivory, Dreft, Gain, Mr. Clean, Lest Oil & Bounty
towels
Food - Duncan Hines, Fisher Nuts, Fisher Mints & Fisher, Peanut Butter - =
Jif
Dehydrated Fruits Coffee - Folgers & High Point
Shortening & Oils - Crisco, Puritan & Fluffo
Deodorants - Secret & Sure
Diapers - Luvs & Pampers
Hair Care - Lilt, Head & Shoulders, Prell, Pert, Vidal Sassoon & Ivory
Acne Products - Clearasil
Mouthwash & Toothpaste - Scope, Crest & Gleem
Personal Hygiene- Always & Attend undergarments
Lotions - Oil of Olay 7 Wondra
Soap - Camay, Coast, Ivory, Lava, Safeguard, Zest & Oil of Olay
Fabric Softener - Downy, Bounce
Citrus Punch - Sunny Delight
Medication - Aleve, Pepto-Bismol
If you are not sure about the product, look for "Proctor & Gamble" =
written on the products, or the symbol of a ram's horn, which will appear on =
each product beginning on January 1, 2000. The ram's horn will form the 666,
which is known as Satan's number. Christians should remember that if =
they purchase any of these products, they will be contributing to the church =
of Satan. Inform other Christians about this and STOP buying Proctor & =
Gamble Products. Let's show Proctor & Gamble that there are enough Christians =
to make a difference!
On a previous Jenny Jones show, the owner of Proctor & Gamble said that =
if Satan would prosper he would give his heart and soul to him. Then he =
gave Satan credit for his riches. Any one interested in seeing this tape, =
should send $3 to Sally Transcripts, 515 West 57th Street, New York, NY =
10019.
We urge you to make copies of this and pass it on to as many people as
possible. Liz Claiborne also professes to worship Satan and recently =
openly admitted on the Oprah Winfrey show that half of her profits go towards =
the church of Satan. This needs to stop!

I saw a commercial tonight while watching the CBS Evening News that I am
pretty certain is Mandy's voice. It is an ad for the drug Procrit.

Procrit stimulates the body to make red blood cells and is used for people
with serious anemia...for example, kigney transplant patients or people
with AIDS. It's an injection and made Amgen stock jump.
I don't understand why you would advertise a drug like that. It's not like
the general public would be interested. I wonder what the commercial
says?....Carol

This is an ancient urban legend. The Liz Claiborne/Oprah one has been going
around for the better part of ten years. If you call Sally or Oprah's
transcript services, they will tell you--these shows never aired.
Besides--Proctor and Gamble would probably fire an executive who made such a
public effort to ruin the company's business, don't you think? Even with the
messy entanglement of "freedom of religion".

You know I thought that it couldn't be true, but if the owner and
president of a co. were on the same page who knows what they'd
do.(stranger things have happened) I'm obviously not up on *Urban
Legends* but when I saw the products involved and then my only clothes
brand I figured I better find out. At least I knew the right place to
go to find out! :o)

They advertise the drug on tv, to reach people whose treatment for certain
diseases makes them anemic, and therefore, tired. The drug could help perk
them up again.

Procrit is serious stuff....it's not like taking iron. If you need it
you're already sick enough you're seeing a specialist. I don't understand
the direct to consumer advertising. Would like to hear it but that probably
means I'd have to turn on the radio or TV......Carol

They're pushing it for people who are undergoing chemotherapy.

Ok, ok, ok -
We couldn't STAND it anymore.
It doesn't look like our tall terrific talented tenor
is going to make a Southern California singing appearance for a long time.
So, Joanne and I broke down and bought tickets for Scottsdale after loudly
stomping our feet and refusing to go because we were sure that the next day
closer tickets would go on sale.

It's being marketed the way many other prescription drugs are -- sort of a
"we want to make you aware we're here if you need us" thing rather than a
"buy us and we'll cure everything!" thing. The ad I saw was aimed at people
undergoing chemotherapy -- very similar to that guy who's too tired to go
get the camera to photograph all the grandkids eating ice cream, except this
is a woman who's too tired to sew her daughter's wedding dress.

Hi everyone,
My son is watching (and recording) Jumanji on TV. *Just now*, in the ad
break, there was an ad for Elmo In Grouchland!
Now, with everything that Mandy is doing/will be doing/things on TV there
etc, please forgive me if I'm wrong about this but I had the idea that Elmo
isn't going to be opening in cinemas in the USA until October 1. Is that
right?
Well, guess what? At the end of this ad it said "Opening in cinemas
September 16th"!!!! (Adults at children's prices - I save $1). The last day
of term for the 2-week September school holiday is the 17th and movies
always begin on a Thursday here (so they miss out on almost a week's Elmo
revenue). I wasn't expecting it to be shown here until at least the end of
December - in time for the long school break. (Remember,
Christmas/Channakah is in the summer here).
I can't believe that it's beginning here so early - that means I won't have
as long to wait for the video to be released! I'll be on the lookout for
any promotional material I can get (especially if Huxley's in/on it)!

Of course, the film begins the day *before* they break up (maybe the best
time for me to see it - the first time! - while there aren't many little
kiddies around).
